After earning a BA in Sales Management from Georgia Southern University, Michael began his career as a sales representative with Nestle. Two years later he was recruited by Hershey Chocolate USA for the position of territory manager where he oversaw a team of eleven sales people and several of the division’s largest regional accounts. As sweet a position as this was, in 1997 the hospitality industry called and lured him away from confections. Eighteen months after joining an Atlanta-based rep firm Michael had cultivated a large and loyal following among interior designers and purchasing companies focused on mid- to high-end restaurants and country clubs.
By 1999 Michael had purchased the firm and rechristened it Specified Agents, Inc. He immediately began expanding SA’s customer base by carrying a full FF&E package with products designed for a wider range of hospitality properties, including boutique and chain hotels, resorts and timeshares.
Over the past 16 years, Specified Agents’ understanding of market requirements and design trends, the company’s sterling reputation and Michael’s commitment to customer satisfaction have resulted in he and his team being brought in to consult on projects during their design, planning and budgeting phases. He has negotiated multi-year Standard Room Décor contracts and worked on projects with both national and international scope.
